lots of archeological exhibits and art.
Wednesday's is free entry
We really enjoyed the exhibit on conservation, very interesting. Lots of beautiful artworks displayed over the rest of the museum, there was even someone working live on a conservation project! Our ticket gets us into a few other museums across innsbruck, good to know if you plan to do a few. £12 euros each. Good views of the city from the top floor
Definitely worth to visit! Amazing expositions, beautiful interior, loved it!
I actually came to this museum only because of the "nature morte" paintings that I like very much, and it turned up to be a very interesting museum. If you like medieval art, this is a good museum to visit.
Excellent museum. Very well laid out and had done great treasures. Archeology section does not include English language descriptions beside items in display so the audio tour is a necessity.
Went in free with the innsbruck card, and the receptionist on 18/8 AM was absolutely welcoming and friendly. The place had some interesting artwork too.
Regional art museum with a fine collection of Renaissance Italian art and paintings from the Dutch Golden Age, including a small but beautiful Rembrandt. There should be a collection of 20th century local art including pictures by Eggar-Lienz, but sadly little of this seems to be on display currently (or if it was, we could not find it). The gallery does not provide a floor by floor guide to visitors, which is unhelpful, nor is there one on the website. Some rooms seemed to be empty. Still well worth a visit but disappointing if, like me, you are an Eggar-Lienz enthusiast.
Best location in Innsbruck to enjoy Panorama view. Highly recommended .. Also visit restaurants 1809 for great food with beautiful view.
